Baby Festivities

On September 11, 2010, I had my first baby shower. I got sooo many cute, girly things! But the morning of the shower, Little Morris woke up complaining about his foot hurting. I looked at the bottom of his foot and noticed an abscess. I had to take him to Peds Plus. Well, his foot hurt so bad that I couldn't put on a shoe and needless to say, he wouldn't walk. So here I am, 7 months pregnant, with a BIG belly, carrying around a 30 pound 2 year old! Poor little guy, they had to lance the abscess and then drain it. He walked with a limp and on the side of his foot for a few days. I had another baby shower on October 9, 2010; where I got tons more cute things, and even some really sweet smocked bubble outfits that my mom made!

Halloween rolled around, and I was going to let Morris be Elmo since he LOVES him. Well, I waited too long and traveled all over Charleston looking for a 2T Elmo costume with NO luck. Finally, I did find a costume that seemed to fit him perfectly...a boxer. And I knew his daddy would love it. He looked soooo freakin' cute too!

My pictures NEVER upload in the order that I want them to...oh well. Here are some pics to go with this blog. But in NO particular order!

This is actually my 9 month photo. I was about 3 weeks away from due date here.

And next post will be Savannah's birth story. Just 6 months later! LOL!

Boy or Girl?

So July came...and so did the BIG ultrasound to find out the sex of our baby! It's a GIRL!! I honestly just hoped for a healthy baby, but the fact that it was a girl was an added bonus. And even though Morris had been nervous about having a girl, when I looked over at him as they told us the sex, he was smiling; it was then that I knew we would definitely have a "daddy's girl" in November! As my belly got bigger, we began to try to teach Morris about babies, and tried to explain that there was a baby in mommy's belly, and that he was going to be a big brother. I don't think he truly really ever understood what we were trying to teach him.

Meanwhile, when Morris turned 2 in June, we started potty training. He did wonderfully and was fully potty trained by August!! I just really didn't want two in diapers! Having my "baby" in big boy undies made me realize just how fast he was growing up! I was happy, but sad at the same time. We look forward to milestones, but when they reach them, we realize just how fast they grow. It was probably at that point that I decided that I wasn't going to "rush" the milestones with this second baby. That I would sit back and enjoy it a little more.

Mid July, Morris and I went to Maryland to visit with his cousins and some of his aunts and uncles at a cabin on the Chesapeak Bay. It was beautiful, but a very long drive. Little Morris did so much better than I could have ever asked. Morris and I played children's DVD's the whole way, and by the end of the trip, we knew every song on "The Best of Elmo 2"! I still laugh. At one point, he was singing "This is the Song that Never Ends" and at the same time I was singing "I'm Henry the 8th I am". We were just so tired of driving. The drive was so worth spending time with his family, and we really had a good time.

June 2010, bought about Little Morris' 2nd Birthday. My how my sweet little baby boy is growing. He had an Elmo theme birthday because he was sooo in love with Elmo. I'm not sure what it is about Elmo that kids love, but they love him! We had a birthday party at our house with lots of friends and family. I'll leave you with some pictures!

So, I'll try this again

So...it has been over a year since I updated this. So much has changed since then and I feel like I can't just start here...so I'll have to pull out my datebook and start from March 2010.

Morris and I had been talking about getting pregnant again, but at this point Morris was 20 months old and a HAND FULL! So, we kept putting it off. Well, God had other plans, and on March 14th, I had a positive pregnancy test. So, yes, we were a little surprised, but so excited at the same time. I think planning pregnancy is difficult, because there will always be a reason on why you should wait, because there will always be something going on. Anyway, we waited no time to start telling everyone. I, of course, hoped for a girl. While Morris on the other hand was praying for a boy. He always said that having a girl would make him crazy for the simple fact that he knew he would be very protective of her. It isn't that he felt like he wouldn't love a girl, he was just scared of the thought of having a girl and having to "ward" off boys one day!

My first ultrasound was scheduled for April 14th (when I would be approximately 8 weeks or so). Well on Saturday, March 27, 2010, I started to have spotting and bleeding. I called my mom at 11:30pm in tears and told her what was happening. I, of course, looked up my symptoms online, and thought that I could be miscarrying because I also had some cramping, but no significant pain. I called the on-call doctor on Sunday, which happened to be my OBGYN, and he told me to come in Monday. I did. He told me that 6 weeks is still early to find a heart beat, but that we would take a look. Well, to our relief, he found a weak heart beat. So, without getting our hopes up too high, he told us that it would basically be a waiting game until my 8 week appointment. And almost as suddenly as I started spotting, it disappeared 1 day after that initial appointment. That made me feel better, but I still knew that I had to wait 2 more weeks before I could see another heart beat.

On March 31, 2010, my mom and dad took us all to Disney. We were there for 5 days and had a blast! Little Morris LOVED it...he didn't care much for the life size characters, but he did have alot of fun.

April rolled around, and Morris and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary and we also had another doctor's appointment. They found a strong heart beat, I hadn't had anymore bleeding and everything was looking good! RELIEF!! I didn't realize how much I wanted this pregnancy, until I thought that I might lose it! We could finally breath again. Nothing too interesting or exciting happened for the rest of April or May.

I will leave you with some pictures from Disney!!

We celebrated Easter while in Disney...not the best picture...but I already uploaded it, and don't feel like searching for a better one! LOL

Decisions...Decisions...

Trying to decide whether or not to restart my blog. Life is definitely busier now a days, but I think I might be getting a little more organized with two little ones, and may actually be able to write more often (no promises though). However, before I start writing a blog again, I want to actually know that someone is reading it (someone besides you Aunt Mammy)! So leave me a comment...

SNOW!!!!

Yipee! It actually snowed...ALOT...in Charleston, SC. It was so exciting and fun for little Morris. I accidentally uploaded the pictures in the wrong order, but it is such a pain to start over...so deal with it! :)

Here is Tommy the morning after it snowed making his snow angel! I thing the adults had almost as much fun as the children! I know I did. Me and little Morris making our own snow angels!

Of course we had to make a snowman!

Our street...it doesn't even look like our neighborhood!

He was trying to catch the snow flakes as they fell.
